Wheat Straw Pulp: Sustainable Fiber for Modern Applications
At Pacific Paper Export, we supply unbleached wheat straw pulp to industries seeking an environmentally friendly, sustainable fiber alternative. Wheat straw pulp is not only eco-friendly and cost-efficient but also provides a viable alternative to wood pulp, which is costly and has a high carbon footprint.Pacific Paper Export sources high-quality fiber, characterized by low impurity levels, a consistent fiber structure, and reliable performance in end-use products. Our fiber is sourced from established, quality-controlled mills and balers, then processed by mechanical pulping.
We work with trusted logistics partners to ensure efficient transportation and reliable delivery to the global markets.
Our pulp is produced in compliance with FDA food-contact material standards.
We require a minimum order of 25 metric tons (MT). Get your quote today. Samples are available upon request to meet your requirements.

Production Process for Wheat Straw Pulp
- Raw materials
Wheat straw, a leftover from farming, comes in two types: spring, harvested in the fall, and winter, collected in late spring/early summer. Its quality impacts pulp performance.
- Harvesting
Proper timing is key for wheat straw quality; early collection yields underdeveloped straw, while late harvesting risks decomposition. Both negatively impact pulp quality.
- Storage
After the wheat straw is collected, it should be stored in a cool, dry area away from sunlight to prevent contamination or degradation.
- Pre-treatment
Pretreatment cleans wheat straw, removing dirt and debris (mechanically or manually). This preparation softens the straw, often using chemicals, water, or heat, to enhance fiber processing for pulping.
- Mechanical Defibrillation (Primary Pulping)
A disc refiner then processes the softened wheat straw. Fiber is separated using mechanical forces: pressure and shear, resulting in coarse pulp slurry.
- Refining, Cleaning, and Finishing
Pulp is refined, screened to remove coarse particles, and cleaned to eliminate sand/silica. Excess water is removed to increase consistency. If needed, the pulp is bleached for brightness before paper production or dried for storage/transport.
